Closing Out 2019 The Right Way

Another year is coming to an end and a new decade is starting… Wow. That’s crazy to say.

2019 was a huge year of change for this blog, for my business and for me personally. With so many changes these past two years, I was sad that I didn’t carry on my yearly tradition of posting my top ten blog posts last year.

This year, I promised myself that I would!

I also just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for reading what I have to say. Thank you for supporting me and sharing all of this content… for creating a safe space for me to share what I love to do and create on a daily basis. I know that in 2019 you guys didn’t hear as much from me but this upcoming year, that is all going to change.

2020 is going to be an amazing year and I am so excited to share with you everything I have been working on! Without any of you, this blog would be pretty boring- so thank you for all the encouragement and support this year.

Here’s to 2020!

10.  Easy DIY Bath Bombs

Easy DIY bath bombs!! YES! So excited to share this lush bath bomb recipe (DIY style)!

Do you know how people say no adults take baths? I have NO clue where they get that—I challenge any toddler to love bath time as much as me; though I will say my kid has me beat! The bath is my happy place—I’ve been known to spend an hour or two in there with a good book + a good glass of something.

Check out this post to see how easy it is to DIY your own bath bombs!

LUSH BATH BOMB DIY! These easy diy bath bombs are awesome and took just a few minutes to make! They smell so good thanks to essential oils… they are just as good as the ones at Lush! I love bath bombs!

9. Quick and Easy Meals

This time of year can sometimes be stressful which sometimes leads us to make unhealthy choices when it comes to our eating habits. I’m really excited this post is still booming after a few years and it was honestly a great little reminder.

I need to start doing this again! It took me about 2 hours total and ended up being over two weeks worth of breakfasts and lunches!

8. How to Clean Concrete {The Easy Way!}

Wow. Just seeing this concrete makeover reminds of some good times. I still love the patio season here in Texas!

There are a ton of ways out there to clean concrete, but I like to use what I have on-hand and do things the easy way, so after a little trial and error I figured it out! Here’s how to clean concrete (the easy way!).

6. Ikea Hack: Billy Bookcase Pantry

I’m sure you guys have noticed my love for Ikea, especially the kitchen section! My favorite part is the Ikea pantry area—looking at all those pantry cabinets and storage is so much fun and it really inspired me to be creative.

Rather than going with an Ikea pantry cabinet, we decided to try an Ikea pantry hack by using the Billy bookcase as our pantry! Spoiler alert…it TOTALLY works! Check it out!

5. DIY Concrete Countertop

I’m still so happy that we did this! When it came down to keep the existing stuff and just commit to buying tiny fridges for life or redoing the ENTIRE kitchen cabinetry, I’m so glad we decided to go with option 2. It really did pay off.

Check out this post to see how we create these countertop molds and to get an update on how to kitchen ended up looking.

4. How to Install A Floating Mantle

Since we moved in, I knew I wanted to do a DIY floating mantel, but when I sat down to figure out how to install a wood beam as a fireplace mantle, I was a little stumped.

There weren’t really any tutorials that I found online showing how to attach a mantel to a brick fireplace, so I had to figure it out on my own. Luckily, it was fairly easy!

3. Easy DIY Essential Oil Candles

Easy DIY essential oil candles – I love the vibe a candle gives off, but I am not a huge fan of the toxic scents they can have. Instead, learn how to make scented candles using 100% natural essential oils.

These diy candles are so easy to make! They are homemade are with soy and scented with essential oils then poured into mason jars. This quick and easy diy project takes about 20 minutes from start to finish…even I can make diy candles!

2. Easy DIY Painted Concrete Rug

I recently showed you how to clean concrete as the number 8 slot and now it’s painting time!

For years, I had looked for an outdoor rug to put on my porch but no luck what so ever. So I thought, why can’t I paint one? Is that a thing? Turns out it is!

Check out this post for a step by step tutorial on how to paint a rug on your porch concrete.
