Round Up: My Top Ten Posts of 2017
Friends! While I’m tending to our newborn baby girl, I wanted to pop in and continue my annual tradition of sharing the top ten posts from the year!
Let’s get this party started!!!!
10. DIY Color Blocked Utensils
I’m so happy this post squeaked in the top 10 posts of the year because it was one of my favorites! These DIY Color blocked utensils are so easy to make, food safe, and perfect for gifting AND keeping! 🙂
9. How to Become a Full-Time Blogger
Obviously, this post is near and dear to my heart. I still can’t believe this little blog is my full-time job now! I got a ton of questions about how I made it happen—spoiler alert it was a LOT of work and some strategic planning. 😉
8. Our Baby Announcement
Blogging has been my baby for the past several years, but this baby is a REAL baby! I am STILL shocked that we have her!! I had a fun vision for our baby announcement and my brilliant friend who is a designer made it happen! This cover was so legit that a few people thought it was for real—so flattered that they thought I was cool enough to be on the cover of People magazine! #goals
7. Demoing the Kitchen
Everyone likes a good demo story, right? Too bad we started ours just a few weeks before we found out we were pregnant! What a doozy!! Not a great first-trimester gift…but we survived!
6. Kitchen Remodel Updates: Flooring & Cabinets
The best part of kitchen remodels are the finishes, for sure. I’m still SUPER proud of the kitchen remodel we did at the last house—I was sooooo sick and exhausted (first trimester!) and Scott was slammed between work, remodeling (I was no help) and taking care of me. It was worth it though! 🙂
5. Lush Inspired Easy DIY Bath Bombs
This is one of my favorite projects of all time and space because I LOVE BATHS! I’m one of those outliers who actually like to use their bathtub. There is nothing better than a hot bath and a good book IMHO! These bath bombs are SO easy to make and smell SO GOOD. Give it a try!
4. How to Pick Kitchen Counters: the Ultimate Guide
TBH, I was going to be really sad if this didn’t make the top 10 this year because this is the blog post I spent the most time on by far, ever. I got really obsessed with kitchen counters and figuring out the pros and cons of each and basically wrote a research paper in this post. 😛 Check it out if you are looking at counters anytime soon!
3. Cute Cheap Coffee Tables
I was shopping for a new coffee table, and got greedy—I wanted it in two days or less. So I looked on Amazon Prime and was shocked at how many cute affordable options there were, so I put together a post about it. Apparently, I’m not the only one who likes a good deal!
2. So it Begins: the Kitchen Remodel
Yet another kitchen post! This post is chock full of eye candy—it was my inspiration post for our kitchen remodel. If you like white kitchens that don’t feel stark, check this post out!
DRUMROLL…..THE NUMBER ONE POST FROM 2017 IS……..
1. DIY Essential Oil Candles
Who doesn’t like candles? Most people do, but the biggest complaint I hear is people don’t want their home filled with potentially toxic fumes. What’s a girl to do? I’ll tell you! Spend a few minutes making DIY essential oil candles. It’s SO EASY. Honest.
So, that’s it! The top 10 posts of 2017. Want to catch up on the last few years?
The top ten posts from 2016
Weight loss, Ikea hacks, getting the Fixer Upper look and more!
The top ten posts from 2015
The weirdest nailpolish hack ever (it works!), our biggest remodel to date and free downloads await!
The top ten posts from 2014
Not one, not two, but THREE Ikea hacks plus the life-changing way to never have to clean house again!!!
In other words, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. 2017 was a banner year for me—professionally and personally. It was my first year running the blog full-time and, of course, being pregnant and birthing a baby adds to the fun! Without your continued support and encouragement, this blog would be pretty boring, so thank you for all the fun conversations this year and the past five! 🙂
