10 Most Popular Posts from 2016

In mid-December, Scott and I packed our bags and flew 8 hours across the Atlantic to Italy. We stayed in Europe an entire month (it was amazing and I have a billion posts coming very soon about it all!). Travel has this crazy way of making you really reflective about your life, dreams and choices.

That, coupled with the start of a new year, has made me really take a hard look at 2016. It was a very bittersweet year for me—lots of loss and heartache and disappointment, coupled with amazing experiences and new friendships.

2016 was also an amazing year for my blog. I had over 1 million visitors to this year (I would give a million kisses to you each if I could!) and got really intentional about growing my business. It worked! In early December, I left my corporate job and am now blogging full time. I still can’t believe it!

Additionally, 2016 gave me many opportunities to learn about YOU. You’re smart, strong and capable. But you feel a little bit lost—this whole adulting thing really is hard, isn’t it? You want to make your life more than a cubical and Netflix-binging. You want more time and you want to use your time well and purposefully. I get it, because I’m there with you! My vow to you? We’ll figure it out together.

I also learned that you all also are really into Fixer Upper! I’ve compiled my yearly list of the most popular posts of 2016, and Chip and JoJo dominated—and for good reason, they are awesome.

Without further ado, here are the top 10 most popular posts of 2016:

10. How I lost 16 pounds in 30 days

Yeah I did! And I’ve kept it off easily too. It was all from the Whole30—no clickbait here. This was especially exciting given that I’ve had thyroid issues for 15 years and wasn’t able to lose weight previously despite multiple attempts. I’m a believer!

9. Ikea Rast Hack

Ikea hacks are so fun! This was my makeover of the bedside table everyone knows and loves—the Ikea Rast. Check it out!

8. Laundry Room Makeover

Reveal-4-of-6

I participated in something called The One Room Challenge with a bunch of other bloggers—I had to give a room an entire makeover in 6 weeks. I picked the laundry room in hopes that it’d make me want to do laundry more. No luck—but it sure is a pretty transformation!

7. Spring House Tour

This was my favorite house tour of all time! I’m so happy you guys liked it too…especially the wallpaper, which was the most controversial design decision I’ve ever made.

6. Make-Ahead Thanksgiving Dishes

Technically, you could make these any time. There’s never a bad time for mashed potatoes, right?

5. White Appliances

Seeing this post in my top ten had me fist pumping like a weirdo at the coffee shop I’m writing this at. I am a white appliance evangelist! And this proves I’ve done my job. See ya never, stainless steel. 🙂

4. Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte

Who doesn’t like pumpkin spice lattes? They’ve gotten a bad rep lately, since it was discovered a very popular one (no names!) doesn’t really have any pumpkin…mine does! It’s one of my favorite treats—vegan, paleo and whole30-approved. And very, very tasty.

3. Open Shelves in the Kitchen

Open shelves are my go-to way to fill an empty wall…especially that one weird wall in the kitchen that’s empty. Anyone else have this? Open shelves are also renter-friendly and great for anywhere in the house.

2. Our Trip to Magnolia Market

Fancy a trip to Waco? This post is full of insider tips and pretty photos. Plus, we got to meet Jo’s mom. She about died when she saw the shirt I made Scott…you’ll see why.

Drumroll please…..time for the number one post of 2016….

……drummmm……..

1. Fixer Upper at Target

BUT you can absolutely get the farmhouse look without taking a trip to Waco. Combine two of your favorites—Fixer Upper and Target! No wonder this was my number one post of the year! 🙂

Truly, from the bottom of my heart…THANK YOU for reading and helping me grow this little corner of the internet into a full-fledged business. You all are amazing.

  1. Congratulations Tania on your transformation from corporate worker to full-time blogger! I’m still working on that goal myself so it’s inspiring to see others get there because I know I can do it too! Love all your top posts although I did miss some of them at the time so I’ll be going back and checking them out now. Here’s to a prosperous 2017!
