Last weekend Scott and I took a spontaneous road trip to Waco, Texas to see where Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s Fixer Upper transformed the Silos into the new Magnolia Market shop! Waco is a two hour drive from where we live, and believe it or not we’d never been to Magnolia! If you’re not quite as close, no worries, I’m ready to take you on a virtual tour filled with eye candy. Let’s go! 🙂
Parking was kind of crazy. We parked like 5,000 blocks away and were so excited to see this sign while we made the hike in! 🙂
Magnolia Market is every bit as styled as you’d imagine. Check out all of Joanna’s awesome designs! The way the market is laid out is pure brilliance.
I was cracking up over how Chip has just one little corner. Also, can we all PLEASE give MAJOR props to Scott who was such a good sport and wore this awesome shirt I made him? 😀 😀 😀
Speaking of shirts, I had to make myself one too. I mean, what’s a trip to Waco without mentioning shiplap? 🙂 Bonus points for being in front of a shiplap wall! 🙂 Who else is all for shiplapping all the things?
Please, friends, do not be surprised when you see this exact set up in my dining room. Kind of obsessed. 🙂
The shop is separate from the silos itself which are still under construction. But they are pretty to look at from outside the store!
There’s also an amazing garden in partnership with the World Relief Fund. As a certified black-thumb member I was impressed!
We didn’t get to meet Chip and Jojo (this time!) but we did get to meet Joanna’s mom! Isn’t she so cute? She loved our shirts and said she’d make sure to show our pic to the Gaines’. 😛 I’m sure they are looking at it riiiiight now! 🙂
PS- Can’t get to to Waco? No problem! Here’s how to get Fixer Upper style from Target! Joanna would be proud (I hope!). 🙂
Ahhhhh I love that show!!! I stalk the Magnolia website all the time and want to order all the things. Totally jealous that you actually got to go there!!! It looks so wonderful. Did you go broke buying everything?!?!?!
Wow,. I think I just fell in love with this place. Everything is so bright, open, and cozy! I like your outfit too, it looks comfy for the trip around. I’m loving those flowers and the letters from the box on the wall, and the flower beds, ahh! I want to go. Haha.
oh my gosh, you guys are adorable! the shirts are definitely my favourite part 🙂
You are so much fun! I love that you got to go and just love all your pictures too!
Love the shirts! That is hilarious that Chip just has that one little corner.
Ahhhh!!! Thank you for sharing all the goodness in this post! Is it asking too much just to move into the store??? 😉 PS, Joanna’s mom is adorable!
Wow! So inspired, I want to go!! (love the t-shirts too!)
I love the show and her style also and want to make a trip to Magnolia Market! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Ahhh I could watch their show for hours. Your Tshirt is perfect!
I love the Magnolia Market. We visited in early February while we were staying in Austin. But we didn’t meet Joanna, Chip, or any other family members. You were so lucky to meet Joanna’s mom. I wrote about my trip too. https://ourmtnest.wordpress.com/2016/02/15/travel-diary-my-pilgrimage-to-magnolia-market/
What a wondrous place!
Cheers,
Merisi
You can choose to shop or not shop; either way, it feels like you’re welcome to hang out. If we lived in Waco, we could see coming here regularly to meet up with friends and grab a quick bite.
What a fun trip! I’m moving to Dallas at the end of the month, and this is on my road trip list. 🙂 Thank you so much for the awesome preview!
My daughter and I will be visiting Waco in June…all the way from Seattle and Phoenix. Road trip!! Thanks for the preview…can’t wait!
Since I live on the East Coast in NJ, this is probably the closest I’ll get to Magnolia anything!!! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve watched this show since it first came available. My husband didn’t understand why I would save certain shows and re-watch them. – after these past years now HE’S watching them too. Men! We’re in NORTHERN TEXAS – Oklahoma that is and we’ve talked about driving down to see family on the way. . .some day for sure. Thx for posting these pics.
