FAQ

What type of content can I expect to see at Run to Radiance?

I am a bit of a renaissance woman, so naturally this blog will reflect that. You can expect to see house-related projects, but additionally you will find arts and crafts projects, recipes, cocktails, entertaining tips, travel photos and general life-musings.

How do you pronounce your name?
Tania is pronounced like Tonya traditionally would be. Like my name rhymes with lasagna, and that’s about it. 🙂 My parents got creative with the spelling, but they always say it was so I could put a heart or a star above the i—I took full advantage of this but a tip to the wise, you aren’t allowed to do this at the DMV when you are 16, no matter how many times you’ve practiced your signature. They will make you redo it and you will be unhappy. True story.

How did you survive living in a remodel?
Hah. We did it for 3 solid years and looking back, I wonder about this myself all the time! 😉 But the truth is, it sort of becomes the new normal after awhile (which is both good and bad). I actually wrote an entire blog post about that very topic called, “How to Survive Living in a Remodel”. It has lots of scary photos, but some helpful tips as well. 😉

What is your background?
If you mean ethnicity wise, I am half Iranian and half Irish-Cherokee. I love, love, love having different cultures and traditions to celebrate. Also, if you haven’t had Persian food you are SERIOUSLY missing out!

If you mean my background personally, I grew up in the east coast and Europe before moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 8th grade. I finished high school here and accepted an acting scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. After a semester I quickly found out my passion for writing far outlived my passion for acting, so I switched to Journalism and graduated a few years later with a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations.  I worked in the recruiting and corporate communications fields for 6 years before accepting the full time copywriting position I’m at now.

Where did the name Run to Radiance come from?
Run to Radiance got its name after one of my favorite Bible verses- Psalm 34:5

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.”

It is my hope and my prayer that this blog can point people in the direction of Jesus. I want to become like him in every way- thus I can say I am becoming increasingly radiant as I run towards Him.  And what woman doesn’t want to be radiant?!?

What are your favorite posts?
That’s a tough one. My most popular posts have been How to Paint a Chevron Wall (even thought I painted over it and gave our entry a complete makeover), DIY Concrete Countertops and No-Sew Placemat Pillows.

I’m also partial to our DIY Swinging Daybed and Fireplace Makeover posts since those projects were featured on CNN Living!

And, in case you didn’t know…I’m totally obsessed with Pride & Prejudice—here’s a giant piece of DIY proof!

I want to move to the greatest area in the continental US (Dallas- Fort Worth) and need the best real estate agent ever. Who should I use?
Okay, maybe I wrote this FAQ for myself. But as DFW keeps growing and the market keeps improving, I’d just like to point out that I happen to be married to the most passionate, talented, kindest, best real estate agent in the world. Seriously, Scott is kinda obsessed with real estate and buying/selling/flipping houses, so feel free to give him a shout at [email protected]. Make sure you mention that his lovely wife pointed him your way! He pays me for referrals in shoes and art supplies.

How can I connect with you?
I’m an avid user of social media and you can find me on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. You can also send me an e-mail at [email protected]. Let’s chat!

I’d like to advertise/guest post/host a giveaway with your blog—what are next steps?
I have a steadily-growing audience and am always interested in partnering with blogs and companies that reflect the values of myself and my audience. Drop me an email at [email protected] and let’s talk specifics!
