3. Orange Color Palette
Sure, it’s a bit more work to go monochrome, but the results are completely worth it! This charcuterie board look like something out of a magazine.

To build these, start with a color (here I went with orange!), and get creative. This board has:
- cubed cheddar cheese
- sliced oranges
- dried apricots
- carrots (the long skinny ones look much better than baby carrots, but those will do in a pinch!)
- roasted pumpkin
- crackers (cheesy crackers work great!)
- dried figs
4. Purple Halloween Board
Same idea here, just choose a color and get creative – purple is another great option!

For this board use:
- blackberries
- red grapes
- blueberries
- purple carrots
- purple cauliflower
- figs
- plums
- port wine derby cheese (make sure it has that pretty purple veining!)
This board basically HAS to be paired with some red wine to complete the vibe!
5. Jack-o-Lantern Pumpkin Board
This is a fun, and relatively easy one to make! The base is this wooden round acacia board, then pile on some orange-hued items as your pumpkin!

Grab orange items from the list above, or things like candy corn, goldfish, cheese crackers, etc.
Then, use blackberries to create the pumpkin’s face. I’ve also used chocolate chips in the past, and it turned out great!
6. Girly Candy Board
Want to go ultra feminine, yet modern? Make a pretty board in cheerful colors like pink, purple, and orange! Layer on whatever fits your color theme and dig in.

7. Skull Charcuterie Board
This one is super easy and looks super cool! Start out with a skull shaped board and layer on some thick cream cheese dip or even hummus. For best effect, you want it to be a white color.

Then, roast some red peppers to create the skull’s eyes, nose, and mouth. Creepy, right?
I like to surround mine with purple tortilla chips, but you can easily do veggies or crackers too.
8. Halloween charcuterie cups
Here’s one of my favorite party ideas—try individual charcuterie cups instead of a platter! This makes it easy for people to grab and socialize…and no fingers all over the food, which is always a win. 😉

There are a million ways to do these, but the basics are:
- Grab a charcuterie cup or mini cauldron (make sure it’s food safe, and/or line with parchment paper)
- Fill it with some taller items using skewers or picks (eyeball picks are fun for this!). Some ideas include mini mozzarella balls with prosciutto, cheese cubes, olives, skewed fruit, or dipped pretzel rods.
- Add in a few other items that are of medium hight like rolled meats, short breadsticks, or pretzels.
- Fill up the rest with loose items such as cheese cubes, fruit, olives, etc.
- Make sure to include a pick or small fork so your guests have a way to eat!
9. Eyeball Charcuterie
If you are looking for something that is high impact and fairly simple, this eyeball Halloween board is it!

To make this, you’ll need:
- mozzarella balls
- prosciutto, salami or other cured meat, or even deli ham
- pimento olives
- toothpicks/skewers
To make these, simply wrap the meat around the mozzarella ball, and secure it in place with a sewer or toothpick. Next, use a small spoon to carefully dig out some of the mozzarella in the center.
Grab an olive, and cut it at the tip so the red pimento is showing. Depending on the size, you may want to cut it in half.
Add the pimento olive to the space you created, and you’re done! You can also use black olives, but something about that red eye makes it slightly more creepy. 👀
10. Chocolate Charcuterie
What could be more appropriate than a chocolate-themed Halloween board?

Grab a board, and layer it up with all things chocolate! I like putting out a variety of chocolate dips (dark chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter chocolate dip, etc), then all kinds of fun goodies to dip into them!
Some of my favorites include berries, pretzels, cookies, and candy, but get creative and pick your favorites! Plus, don’t forget to toss in some chocolate bar chunks, chocolate pretzels, and chcoolate cookies too…because why not?!

Quick Tips to Make Any Charcuterie Spooky
Don’t have time for a full themed board? No problem! A few small touches can turn literally any charcuterie board into a Halloween showstopper in just a few minutes.
Build Your Board Around a Skeleton
A small plastic skeleton (dollar store or Halloween aisle, easy to find!) makes the perfect centerpiece. Arrange your meats and cheese around it like it’s setting up its own little charcuterie spread — guests will be obsessed.

Add a Plastic Spider or Two
This is the easiest trick in the book, you guys. Tuck a couple of plastic spiders in between the cheese and crackers, or let one “crawl” over the edge of the board for a little jump scare. Instant spooky, zero effort!

Pick Your Cheese With Care
Here’s a little secret: your cheese does a lot of the spooky heavy lifting! It doesn’t get much more creepy than a chunk of blue cheese, a port wine derby cheese, or a mild cheese with blood-red jam poured right over the top. Choose one (or all three!) and you’ve basically got a haunted cheese course.

Add Dramatic Flair With a Cheese Knife
Sometimes it’s the little details! A black or Halloween-themed cheese knife adds instant polish and makes the whole board feel a little more “haunted dinner party” than “Tuesday snack plate.”
Build Brooms Out of String Cheese and Pretzels
This one is one of my favorites — snip string cheese into “bristles,” bundle it onto a pretzel rod “handle,” and secure with a little twine or a strip of fruit leather. So cute, and they disappear fast!

Spell It Out With Candy Melts
Grab an alphabet candy mold and melt some Halloween-colored candy melts to spell out “BOO,” “TRICK OR TREAT,” or “SPOOKY.” Tuck the letters right into the board for an easy, high-impact detail that always gets a reaction.

Swap in a Mini Cauldron
Skip the bowl! A food-safe mini cauldron is the easiest upgrade for grapes, nuts, dips, or anything that needs a little container. It’s such a small swap, but it instantly makes the whole board feel more “witch’s kitchen” than “snack tray.”

Pick one or two of these and you’ll have a board that looks like you spent hours on it — I promise, no one needs to know it took five minutes!
Quick Tips for a Kid-Friendly Charcuterie Board
Want to get the kids in on the fun too? These little swaps make any board feel exciting for littles without any extra work.

- Add a silly sweet element. Candy melts and candy molds are a super easy way to whip up cute chocolate bats, ghosts, and words. Or, grab gummy vampire teeth or gummy eyes — they are sure to be gobbled up quickly!
- Make monster rice kirspie treats. These Halloween rice krispie treats are SO easy to make and are a hit every single time!
- Draw a ghost face on a string cheese. Grab a food-safe marker and give a piece of string cheese two dot eyes and an “oooh” mouth. Kids go wild for this one, and it takes about ten seconds!
- Turn a Cutie into a pumpkin. Break a small piece of pretzel stick in half and press it into the top of a Cutie for an instant “stem.” Suddenly a piece of fruit feels like a Halloween craft project.
- Swap in milder flavors. Trade sharper cheeses and cured meats for kid-approved favorites like mild cheddar, turkey, and crackers, so the board still feels special without anything too bold for little taste buds.
- Keep candy in check. A small amount of candy alongside the fruit and cheese adds excitement without turning the whole board into a sugar rush. A little goes a long way!

These are such an easy way to make the kids feel included, and honestly? The grown-ups will probably steal a ghost cheese or two as well!
