House Tour: Tall Ceilings & Textured

I haven’t shared this in awhile, but I used to be a full time photographer. It was a pretty quick season in my life a few years ago and I quickly realized that photography was a lot more fun for me as a hobby than as a career. I weaned myself out of that role by not taking on any new clients in most areas, but I have kept up with freelance photography for a local garden and for real estate clients.

I love photographing houses. Duh. Did you guys know that? Kind of obsessed. So when my friend Chrissy mentioned she and her family were putting their house on the market and moving to another community a bit more north, I offered my services as her real estate photographer. To be honest, it was a two-fold move. One, I like photographing houses. Two, I have wanted to share her amazing house here on my blog since I first saw it. SO CUTE. You will die.

So here it is—my very first house tour (besides ours!) here on the blog. Enjoy! 🙂

When you first walk in their house, the first thing you notice is how bright and open their home is. They have three beautiful children and they have done an incredible job of making their space a perfect blend of functional and playful. Chrissy painted that giant mural on the wall herself by hand!

From the living room you can see easily into the sunroom, which is one of my two favorite spaces in their house. This is where the kids do school and Chrissy works on her business with Young Living’s Essential Oils (future post on this coming very, very soon!)

How cute is that cluster of tissue flowers? I just love it. And of course I was completely smitten over this little kid version of Pride and Prejudice. You are never too young to start the obsession. 🙂

In the kitchen, I love this chalkboard painted door that she writes Bible verses on. I wish I had her handwriting!

Right outside the kitchen of course there’s a dining room with this beautiful teal bench I fell in love with.

Also check out the super cool wallpaper they have in the bathroom as well. I love the swirls of pattern and texture and color that Chrissy has implemented everywhere into her home.

Of course her kids’ rooms are too freaking cute. Look how much personality and handmade love she put into these spaces! Their youngest sleeps in a room on her own. I will admit, I am jealous of her room—especially that incredible feature wall! Chrissy shared with me that she did it with some leftover paint and a few friends before they had put the carpet in and that everyone had a blast layering and texturing paint on by flinging their paint with brushes. I need to find a wall to do that stat with all our leftover paints!

Their other two children share a room and have super cute bunk beds. Even the pillows are perfect—stylish, kid-friendly yet totally posh and unique. I also fell in love with the cloud banner that is draped over the window. What a dream!

Here’s my other favorite room in their house. I saved the best for last. Ya’ll….check out their master bedroom! I’m totally obsessed with the color of their walls- at first I thought it was wallpaper, but it turns out it’s hand painted texture from her in-laws. Isn’t it amazing? I wanted to cut out their drywall and glue it to our wall. 🙂

They even added a chevron and butterfly accent wall behind their bed. I was totally smitten with the bedside lighting fixtures they have—they totally remind me of glasses of champagne with all the bubbles and the color!

Of course no stylish master is complete without an ensuite. And theirs doesn’t disappoint. It’s so bright and clean and functional. I kind of wanted to take a shower there, but that’s weird. 🙂
