Spending time with your spouse or significant other for Valentine’s is the “traditional” way of doing things… If you know me at all, I like to do things my way from time to time- and it starts with Galentine’s Day! With these girls night in ideas, you and your girlfriends will have your own love day to remember.
My New Approach To Valentine’s Day
I love my husband, I really do. He’s amazing with our daughter, he takes care of me and gives me support when I need it- he even sets up romantic dinners for special occasions like Valentine’s Day.
Like I said, I love him.
But… girls night in with my besties or better yet Galentine’s Day? I can’t miss that!
The favorite part about this holiday is that I don’t have to pick and choose. I can do both! I mean, it’s double the love, double the fun, and double the champagne 😁
You can keep your girl’s night as low key or as wild as you want. But, I can tell you from experience, there will be so many laughs, stories, game wars, and memories made; it won’t matter how fancy you make it.
These girls’ night in ideas are is meant to help you and your girlfriends let go of all the stress from your day to day life and focus on having a great time.
Sometimes, we often get so busy with our careers, spouses, kids, cooking, cleaning, and everything else that is required from us, we tend to put ourselves on the backburner.
While most of us wouldn’t have it any other way, it’s important to have some time for you! Getting a group of ladies together is a wonderful way to focus on you and let your worries disappear for just one night.

Girls Night In Ideas For Galentine’s Day
So, the night is here! My daughter is being watched by her amazing grandparents, the husband is out with his friends and I have the whole house for me and my friends.
It’s time to put on some good music, break out the champagne glasses, get a few party foods and desserts ready, and it will be in for a night to remember.
Now, it’s your turn! Take a look at these fun ideas to help you get you started on planning your girl’s night in. I promise you are going to have a great time and so will all your BFFs.
Drinks
These drinks are always on my list of girls’ night in ideas because there’s a little something for everyone.
Part of relaxing and having fun on Galentine’s Day should include a tasty drink for each hand. Right?
Be sure to have some mocktails handy, like this Non-Alcoholic Moscow Mule, for any of the women don’t drink or are pregnant! It’s also a good idea to have some soda pop, water, and Texas sweet tea on hand in case you have too many cocktails and need something else to drink.
Whiskey Fizz
This cocktail is one of my favorite holiday-themed drinks! It’s pinkish-red in color so it goes perfectly with the Galentine’s Day theme.
All you need are some blackberries, cinnamon-flavored whiskey (yum!), and ginger ale to complete this drink. Give it a quick shake and serve smooth or on the rocks.
Gin & Ginger Cocktail
This recipe was inspired by a recent trip to Target (sound familiar?) I was picking up some extra champagne glasses when I saw this gorgeous set of Copper Moscow Mule Mugs– I needed them!
Throw in some delicious gin, paired with zesty lime and rosemary, and you have the perfect flavor combination.
Not only is this drink fantastic for a ladies’ night, but it’s lovely for any party or event. It’s so simple to make and leaves a lasting impression too.
Peppermint Vodka
If anyone in your group is a peppermint fanatic, you have to serve this drink. It’s crisp, refreshing, and tastes amazing.
The fun part about this vodka is that you can infuse the peppermint yourself! Just follow the instructions on how to DIY this drink and save them in some mason jars. As soon as that cool peppermint hits your lips, you will be in heaven.
Homemade Spiked Apple Cider
Apple cider is a go-to drink when the weather is nice and cool outside. But, when you spike it with rum, it takes it to the next level of awesomeness!
You can morph this into a mocktail as well by leaving out the rum. This Homemade Spiked Apple Cider just has a way of warming you up and making you feel comforted. We drink it a lot during the fall and winter months, and it’s perfect for parties. Every sip leaves you excited for the next one.
Food
Food is seriously the best part when it comes to parties. Besides, everyone loves to eat food, and it keeps everyone entertained. And, it gives you something to talk about when your guests first arrive.
Make enough food for the entire evening and munch away! The options are endless, and you can either make everything yourself or have each person bring something. Some fo-to snacks that are always good to have are sandwiches, pizza, chips, chocolate, fruit, and popcorn.
SIMPLE + AMAZING DEVILED EGGS
Besides the usual snacks, I also like to serve up some finger food like deviled eggs.
If you are looking to wow your guests, this egg appetizer is perfect to serve! They are delicious and have my favorite secret ingredient…pickle juice! Making deviled eggs is an inexpensive appetizer for everyone to munch on, and they are super simple to make too.
Every bite of these deviled eggs is tangy and irresistible.
Take-Out Food
What’s a girls’ night in with out take out? I mean, you could be one step ahead and do pot luck style where everyone brings something to eat, which is super fun. But… What’s Galentine’s Day without a heart-shaped pizza?
Besides pizza, we really love to order in:
- Tons of Chinese food
- Bowls of Indian food
- Containers full of pasta dishes
You really can’t go wrong.
Fun Activities
I typically like to plan out an evening where many fun activities will take place. I usually ask my friends what they are in the mood to do and these are some of the things we came up with!
Board Games
Games are so. much. fun. Especially, since some of us (okay, all of us) are super competitive- it just makes it all the more fun!
Before my girlfriends came over, I made that quick trip to Target (you know, the one where I bought those Moscow Mule Mugs cause I thought they were cute 😉) and grabbed a couple of more board games to add to my collection.
These are the ones we ended up playing:
We seriously had a blast! If you have any fun must-play games you play with your gal pals, let me know in the comments section.
Crafts
Throwing a craft party is pretty high on my list of girls’ night in ideas. Making a super fun project will keep all of you busy throughout the evening. Making crafts will give all your girlfriends a memento to easily remember this fun night!
Plus, crafting is an excellent ice breaker if some of your friends don’t know each other. So keep the party going and break out the crafts because it’s impossible not to have fun when you are making these items.
Easy DIY Essential Oil Candles
Once you start making your own candles, it’s kind of hard to want store-bought again. I’m not saying you will never want to buy them premade, but these DIY essential oils are so simple and smell terrific.
There are tons of options when it comes to choosing scents, too. My friends definitely raided the left side of my fridge where I keep all of my oils. I must have 50 oils in there- at least! I love that everyone can make their own customized candle to fit their style.
One of the best ways to relax and de-stress is by taking a bath. That can be improved even more by adding in a bath bomb or two.
For this craft, your friends will have a blast learning how to DIY their own bath bombs. The ladies will love customizing their own bath bombs and will be happy to take them home as a memory of your fun night together.
There you have it! All of my girls’ night in ideas rolled into one.
There is nothing more enjoyable than spending time with friends making memories. You can have these types of girls nights any time of year, not just for Galentine’s Day! I think you will all have the best time and make it a tradition.
If you do, let me know! Tag me in your pics on Instagram and Facebook.
No matter what, it will be a night to remember.

It has always amazed me that people somehow get into relationships online. Aren’t you afraid that the person you fall in love with online won’t be the same in real life?
I’ll be honest with you. Valentine’s Day used to be my favorite holiday when I had a fiancée. But since we broke up, I can’t stand this holiday.
