Lately we…

Hi Friends!

I’m still alive and well! This last week has FLOWN by- probably because there hasn’t been a single evening where we have been home.  At all.  I think I’m going to sleep for a week!! I already have a great plan for tonight- pjs, maybe some wine and a cheesy redbox movie (okay, yes I read The Host while on vacation and thought maybe there had been a movie? So I looked it up and it was horribly rated and came out a while ago but now it’s on Redbox and I must see it and I paid to have it reserved so we can pick it up and that’s just where I’m at today and besides I like cheesy horrible movies #TwilightForever). :)Anyways- just wanted to pop in and share a few photos of what we’ve been up to lately.  These are all from my iPhone, so forgive the pixals and blurriness- sometimes I’m just too lazy to lug my DSLR everywhere!

Scott sent me some amazing flowers for our anniversary.  Awww. (Ignore the frizzy hair…this is just me in real life).

That night, we stayed up on our anniversary cooking a meal together.  We love cooking and it gave me an excuse to buy a new cookbook.  I went with Danielle Walker’s Against All Grains cookbook…holy guacamole her recipes are awesome!! (Check out her blog HERE).  We made her Paella recipe and Scott and I both agreed it was hands down one of the best meals we have ever made.  Ever.

We stayed out until 3am to celebrate my sister’s 21st birthday with her in Denton! We hung with the cool kids and I had some of them convinced I was a Senior at UNT.  😉

We had a fun outing with our friends at Chicken Scratch in Dallas.  It was a super cool place with a great atmosphere- very Austin-esque.  Check out this amazing stage made out of Pallets!!!

And these awesome lights

And these amazing friends of mine

We got to check out the property Scott’s family bought and are fixing up (DIY runs in our blood! :P)

Other adventures this week included finding vintage light fixtures to use in our bathroom (I LOVE THEM), having birthday dinner with my family at Spiral Diner in Fort Worth (really good vegan food and the cakes are on point.  Seriously good).

Next week there will be lots of fun stuff coming to the blog.  Photos from our Mexican vacation, another guest post by Scott, photos of our (almost completed!) bathroom, and maybe even a tutorial or two 😉  I was also invited (with some other fun local bloggers!) to come check out the new dinner menu of one of my favorite Dallas restaurants, so come back to check it all out!

What are you all up to this week?
