Diner en Blanc Dallas

Diner en Blanc Dallas was a huge success! Check out these gorgeous photos. What a beautiful event._0001

Last week I had the opportunity to go to the very first Diner en Blanc in Dallas! If you haven’t heard of Diner en Blanc, it’s basically an invite-only giant, fancy outdoor picnic at a secret location where everyone (and everything) has to be decked out in white. It’s been going on for over a decade in Paris, but now is quickly spreading across the United States. So glad it came to Dallas this year! 🙂

There are guidelines that you have to adhere to strictly from the size of the table you can bring to the white clothing/shoes only rule (no khaki, no cream, just bright white!). The rules felt a bit stressful at times, since I was so worried I would mess up something (luckily I didn’t!). I was so relieved when Scott and I both found our head-to-toe white outfits…don’t we look classy? 🙂

Part of the fun is you aren’t told where the event will be held. You meet at various bus pick-up locations throughout the city and everyone is bussed in to the secret spot. This year’s spot was the Margret Hunt Hill Bridge just west of downtown. It made for a fabulous backdrop with the entire city in view behind us!

I had so much fun putting together our tablescape. My favorite element wasn’t even something I brought—it was this amazing white champagne bottle! How cool is this?

My favorite part of the night was the people-watching. There were some amazing outfits out there! Also, I loved dancing to the fun music the DJ was spinning. I was definitely sore the next day!!!

Another highlight? The firework finale. So pretty!

I can’t wait for next year! Diner en Blanc was so much fun. 🙂 Have you guys ever done anything like this? I would LOVE to go to the one in Paris one day!!

  2. So, what day was this? I was in Dallas a week ago Saturday (the 12th). I stayed at the Hilton Anatole and my hubs and I saw a jillion people wearing all white and could not figure out what was going on! The next morning at breakfast, I saw several people wearing Nerium t-shirts, so I thought maybe it was them. ??? Anyway, what a fun idea! I had a friend attend one of these dinners in LA last week. 🙂

  3. So cool! A few of my friends went to Diner en Blanc here in Albuquerque last year and it came back this year and they went again – it seems like such a fun event. So unique! You and Scott look so classy and fantastic!

Did you have to bring your own dinner plates/silver ware? How does that work precisely?
    Such an interesting concept!
