Cute School Supplies for Adults
When I was a kid, my favorite part of the whole year was back-to-school shopping. Some kids loved summer break, others were all about Christmas, but me? Late summer all the way. It wasn’t about the clothes either. I was 100% all about the new notebooks, trapper keepers, crayons and pencils. I still am!
I was at Target last week giving major side eye to the school supply section. Why do kids get to have all the fun? You know what? They don’t. Being an adult is even cooler because I can buy all the supplies I want with no teachers to say what I can’t and can’t have or mom do argue with me over the practicality of a certain item (love you mom!). Let’s go school supply shopping ya’ll!
1. planner / 2. pens / 3. notebooks / 4. tape dispenser / 5. pencil case / 6. gold stapler / 7. scissors / 8. folders / 9. colored pencils / 10. watercolors
Here’s my must-have supplies this year:
–An adorable planner. To keep me sane and my blog and social life on track. (Update- in 2016 I changed to this planner and I am so obsessed! Read more about my 2016 planner here!)
–Pretty notebooks. I’m really old school—I still like to take all my notes on paper. I have a notebook (or two) with me at all times. Long live paper! Plus, with covers like these…they double as art. 😀
–Pens. Guess what? As a grown up, you can write in any color ink you want. Let that sink in. No more black or blue only (unless that’s what you want!). Pink, purple, sparkles…it’s all a-okay.
–Folders. You know, to be responsible and file things. Or just to look at.
–Pencil case. These are adorable and can be used for carting all kinds of stuff—I like putting make-up in them to throw in my bag if I’m running late.
–Tape dispenser. Okay, I totally own this and am obsessed. How cute is this little guy? Bonus—it’s gold!
–Stapler. Mainly because it’s gold.
–Scissors. So many cute styles, but these look great.
-Art supplies. Crayons, watercolors, colored pencils. You know, for creativity purposes.
Who’s ready to go back to school (wah, or work?)? 😀

Love this! Back to school was always my favorite too! I even bought myself supplies at Target the other day. My husband chuckled.. but I was in HEAVEN! 🙂 Those scissors are adorable!! I really want a vintage pair like that. 🙂 I have the dachshund tape dispenser. I got to visit Rifle Paper Co.’s studio/store in Orlando last week… oh boy! Sooo much money spent. SO worth it. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! Have fun at Britany Spears! XO -Alexandra

ooooh that planner is SO pretty, too bad i already bought a new one! that dog tape dispenser is hilarious.
Oh myyyyy I am loving this post. I could definitely use some new supplies and miss the days of going back to school shopping. I might have to take your suggestion and go anyway 🙂 Everyone could use a pair of adorable huge gold scissors!
School supplies are the most fun. I’m old school too with a paper planner and notebooks. When it comes to staying organized, it’s just so satisfying to write stuff down rather than type it out.
OMG – that tape dispenser!! #NEED
I want that tape dispenser!!! And the notebooks! I keep buying planners, but I never use them now that I have everything linked to my outlook calendar 🙁 I miss writing everything in my planner.
