Putting the Living Room Together
My favorite part of any remodeling and/or moving process? When they big things are done and I get down to the nitty gritty details—decorating! As you guys have heard, the living room was the most hotly debated room in our home. I was SO relieved to finally have everything settled and get to start the decor part!
Once we finally agreed on a paint/trim color, and finally agreed to disagree on couches, we started layering in pieces that I had been holding onto for months. My favorite splurge I’ve gotten? This AMAZING gold-flecked cowhide. I’ll admit it—it cost the same as my couch! But dare I say I love it more? :O
While we were picking out our couches at Weirs, I found this amazing coffee table. It’s unlike anything I’ve owned before. It is round and brass and was on clearance since it’s a bit scraped on the top. I don’t mind that one bit! Ya’ll know I’m crazy about that patina stuff! 🙂 As a bonus, it makes a very solid, loud drum when my friends’ kiddos come over. 🙂 It keeps us all entertained for quite awhile!
The wall with the amazing built in bookshelf backs up to the kitchen. Eventually, we may take it down to open up the kitchen, but for now I have to admit I’m loving storing some books and pretty things down there. It also has a super cool, top-secret function…I’ll be sharing more in an upcoming post. But for now just imagine it there to hold my favorite reads.
Just for fun, I made a gif of my decorating steps. Check it out! 🙂
The biggest thing this room really needs is art. I am debating between a gallery wall and a large-scale focal art (as you may remember from here it’s one of my favorite trends!). Stay tuned! 🙂

I think the gallery wall or large scale art would both look great! I’m dying over that cowhide, it really brings the couches together. The room looks awesome!!
Love that rug! I feel like it really ties the two couches together!
This is really great that we get to see your decorating process step by step. I love what you have done so far and really looking forward to your next post. The cowhide is amazing, and after showing it to my dh, I think it has won him over!!! Thank you so very much for sharing your new adventure!
Girl! We have that same couch from Weir’s 🙂 😉 We have the loveseat too! haha
That cowhide is fabulous and really ties your room together!!! I don’t think you could go wrong with an oversize piece of art or a gallery wall. I tend to prefer gallery walls these days because they are so easy to change out and update a few pieces here and there to create new looks versus looking at the same picture.
That coffee table is EVERYTHING! Love it!!!
Looks fantastic! I love how the rug ties the two couches together.
Love your living room! The cowhide is amazing! 🙂 And cool GIF, girl! 🙂 You know I love me a good gallery wall but I’m leaning towards a large-scale piece this time!
