Our New House—Before Pics (Part One)
Hi!! It took me a bit longer than expected but I’ve got some fun before pics to share with you guys today from our new house! We’ve been here less than a month and absolutely love it. We’ve already got quite a few projects done, so stay tuned for those…but now let’s get to the good stuff—before pics! This house is quite a bit bigger than our last so I’m going to split this into two tours so it’s not overwhelming. 🙂 So stay tuned for part two!
Our house is a corner lot in our dream area of Richardson. Absolutely LOVE it! Isn’t it pretty? We even have a front porch. As you can see there is a LOT going on in terms of bushes/trees everywhere…not in a good way LOL.
So, an interesting thing before we go inside. Every single room/wall in the entire house was painted the same shade of yellow. Not a shade I like sadly. So as you’re looking through the photos please know that my photography skills aren’t horrible, but literally everything looks yellow. Cause it is. 🙂
This is the entryway:
This was taken standing in the entryway. This was a formal living room, but we are changing it into a dining room:
This was the original dining room, but we’ll be turning it into what we call the library. Fancy, I know. 😛
To the left is the entrance to the kitchen:
Here’s the kitchen looking towards the library:
Now looking the other way:
This is the eat-in kitchen. And yes, we have a second story! :))) For the first time ever!
Sharing a wall with the kitchen is our living room:
So as you can see this house is filled with wood tones/paneling and yellow everywherrreeeeee! Eek. It’s fun looking at these since they already look so different from what we are living in now! 🙂 I’ll be sharing part two of the before pics on Friday…then we’ll get to some afters! 🙂

Oh I CAN NOT WAIT to see the progress on the house!!!!!!
Me too…!! 🙂 We’re getting there!!
This is going to be sooo good! I love the details in the entryway – so classic! I’m so excited for you!
Thank you Brynne! Definitely a different architecture from the last few houses, so i’m excited to play up that vibe a bit. 🙂
YAY for your new house…so excited to see what you do with it! And that yard…oh my goodness! I have yard envy!
The front is pretty but wait until you see the back :)))))
Yay!! I see so much potential! I can’t wait to see what you guys do with it 😉
Yes! So glad you see it. We do too. 🙂 I think some people just think we are crazy…!
Your house and mine must be cousins. We had those same cabinets in the family room and paneling everywhere. 1968 was a sad time in North Texas interiors 🙂 Can’t wait to see the progress!!
Haha so funny. Ours is 1972, so cousins for sure. I’m excited to play with the bones and keep the good and get rid of the bad! Ick.
I love your new house, can’t wait to see the after photos soon.
Thank you, i am excited as well…afters are so much more fun than durings 🙂
This house has great bones, wow. So much to work with…but so much work to do. The results make it all worth it, yes?? Can’t wait to see.
I agree, good bones but needs a facelift. There is a lot to do, but I’ve got a vision!
Enjoyed seeing the pics! Will be looking for more soon! Love you guys:)
Thank you! Come by in person and check it out when you can! 🙂 Love you too.
This is going to be gorgeous! I can hardly wait to watch its transformation!
