The Studio Reveal!

Pinterest image for craft room and library reveal.

Hi friends! We’ve made it to the middle of the week – woohoo! It’s all downhill from here, right? 😛

Anyways, big news! I’m so excited to share that our house is being featured on the Handmade Home today. I’m so thrilled! It’s my favorite blog and I have a major, major house crush on them! Head over and check it out here – I shared the before and afters of the rooms in our home.

And if you have come here from the Handmade Home… Welcome! I’m so excited you are here! Pull up a chair and stay awhile ya’ll. You can connect with me on Instagram or my Facebook page. Let’s be friends!! 🙂

I’m so excited about the reveal I’m sharing with you all today! I’ve gotten to share bits and pieces, but here it is in ALL its glory… my studio!

After photo of a newly renovated craft room, featuring organization, storage and decor ideas.

Before we get into the details, let’s take a quick trip back down memory lane to see how far we’ve come my babyyyyyy (Shania Twain anyone?)!

The before photo of a room before the after reveal. Its a white room, with beige and brown toned floors, doors, curtains and fixtures.

Remember the off-white walls, the tweed curtains, the faux wood fan, the jack and jill bath door, the carpet… the ick of it all? No longer!

We sure were able to infuse a whole lot of style and function into this 12×12 room. You can find the source list at the bottom of this post.

Our Studio Remodel

The first thing we did was replace the carpet with laminate floor and paint the walls and ceilings white. Then, we added new curtains and lighting. Although the curtains I chose are no longer available, Anthropologie always has the most fun designs – like these!

On the opposite wall, you can see our “built in” bookshelves (part 1, part 2). Still my favorite wall in the house! It’s hard to believe there used to be an entrance to our dismantled jack-and-jill bath right there! Sweet memories. 🙂

We went with a standing-height table which is perfect for crafting. We added stools so we can sit if we want. Underneath the table is an industrial cart to add some additional storage.

I went back and forth on whether I wanted a rug for this room or not. I knew it would need to be something simple so it wouldn’t compete with the curtains, but I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted. When I stumbled upon this one, I knew it would be perfect for the space.

This rug is so nice and warm to stand on while I’m crafting versus the wood floor. Plus, there’s an added layer of comfort underneath with a nice and thick rug pad! Here’s a similar rug design that looks just the same!

Opposite of the library wall is where all my craft items are stored in the Ikea hacked storage solution I came up with (find that post here).

Three ikea storage drawer organizers with a wooden tabletop across the top.

Even the window sill is multipurpose. It grows plants and holds glitter. 🙂

3 wicker baskets on a window ledge with a plant inside of one.

Decorative accents in a windowsill.

Underneath the other window is a chest of drawers that will hold papers and other office supplies. On the top is a decorative tray that holds different things at different times – wine and glasses, a french press and cream, glittered feathers… you name it. 🙂 Directly to the left is my little art gallery wall with a reading chair.
