Oh Happy Day

SO excited to share our fireplace makeover with you guys! I am so thrilled with how it’s turned out. Everything is so pretty and I can’t stop staring…look what we have in our house now!!! 🙂

Yes- it is a fireplace mantle! Hanging perfectly- not sitting sadly in the failed project corner.  I owe all the credit on fixing it to my dad and Scott (thank you thank you thank you!) and will be back tomorrow with a full tutorial but for now I just want to enjoy the eye candy. 🙂 There’s a rustic frame I made with one of my favorite photos from our summer trip clipped in.  Also some circle art I made with leftover teal paint and stain, as well as a paper pinwheel and a paper garland strand I made.  And of course one of my favorite flea market finds, the ampersand. 🙂

I am so proud of our hard work- this fireplace has come so far – here’s the before from when we moved in, and the beautiful after we get to look at now:

To get the fireplace where it is today we removed the dated pieces and white-washed the fireplace, painted and repaired the bookshelves,  and then styled the bookshelves. Success!! 🙂

  1. Looks beautiful. I particularly like your chairs. Can you tell me the fabric brand and name? Thanks.

    1. Hi Suzanne! Thank you so much. I bought those at Home Goods a few years ago, but I have seen the fabric at several upholstery fabric shops so I bet you could take my photo in to one and they would probably know the name! 🙂
