Vintage Chic Curtains

Hi guys! Did everyone have a great Easter? We sure did! 🙂

We made a few more changes with finally adding some new curtains to our home.  We wanted something unique and pretty that would add to the vintage charm we have going while still being attractive and new.  We got really lucky with a garage sale find and covered the window in the dining room with this beauty:

I love how the red pattern balances out all the earthy-blue tones we have going.  According to my Feng Shui colors, red is going to add to our joy and excitement and really help make this year the best one ever!  The fabric is also heavy enough to where we can cover and shut our windows completely- I am not a fan of natural light and really like my privacy, so this works out perfect- it’s like a decorative blackout curtain!

I have been learning to sew and had a 50% off coupon to Jo Ann’s fabric this week so I used it to get this tweed fabric for our guest room and whipped up these curtains.  This is the only update we’ve made in this room to date- how crazy is that! The retro feel is awesome and brown goes great with everything, right?!

Finally, for our master bedroom we decided to go with cream lace curtains.  They are PERFECT for that romantic ambiance we want to have and they go so great with our dusty rose carpet which we are learning to love. I think we’ll leave the carpet in – the 80’s are coming back in style you know?

Also, for our bathroom we found the perfect shower curtain.  It’s so perfect for spring- loving all the pastel colors and bows. 🙂

So what do you all think of our updates?

Hopefully you are thinking I am crazy because none of this is real.  APRIL FOOLS! Haha! These are all original to the home pieces and I always tricked my friends into thinking I bought them.  But now that they are all torn down and in the trash…I thought I’d pass along my little game virtually. 🙂 Hooray!

  2. I wish I could have seen my face as I read this. Best April Fools ever! I was thinking (1) why didn’t they tell me about the garage sale find. Then I saw the pic, and I was thinking, “Tania has literally lost her mind.” Or/ maybe it looks better close up ….Then I recognized the shower curtain and was realized to realize it was a joke.

  3. I was seriously afraid for a moment that you had gone off the deep end. I can spot an April Fools joke a mile away, but this is the one that got me this year. I’m laughing out loud. I’m so glad your good taste hasn’t actually disappeared.

  4. You had me going right to the end….although I kept thinking in my mind…..wait a minute….that looks like the old stuff….
I was especially impressed with your Joanna Fabric story and the sewing…..

  5. These comments have been my favorite part of the entire day. I have been cracking up every time I have read these. You all are awesome. Glad you didn’t like my shower curtain- that would be awkward. 😛
