Floral Wallpaper Entryway Makeover

I might have found my new favorite spot in the house—our entryway! Yes it’s a small space, but it now has the most gorgeous floral wallpaper of all time and was maybe the fastest dramatic makeover we’ve done—check it out!

For years I’ve been watching the wallpaper trend with some disbelief. I’m used to removing wallpaper, not adding it. Just thinking back on all the hours and aching arm muscles it took to remove wallpaper from our last house has my arms tingling all over again! The thing is though, wallpaper has gotten seriously cool.

I spotted this gorgeous wallpaper over on Anthropologie’s website over a year ago and have been coveting it ever since. It’s definitely not cheap—in fact, it’s so pricey that I decided the perfect—and only place—it could go is in the entryway since it’s the smallest room we’ve got. 🙂 It took three rolls, to cover this space, but I’d say it’s worth it.

In case you’ve forgotten what our entryway looked like before here it is. Yellow and bland on the walls with gorgeous molding and lighting on top.

Having tackled many DIY projects in my life did not prepare me for wallpaper installation, so I hired an expert to come do it. SO glad I did. It was so lovely just to come home and see it all finished after two days. We did paint the bottom half bright white to make the wallpaper pop.

I love that the entryway sets the mood for the rest of our home. It’s all still coming together, but this part makes me smile every time. 🙂

As you can see from the above photos, we’ve also been putting our dining room together—I can not wait to share! Isn’t that (table) leg peeking out sexy? Haha!

What do you guys think of the wallpaper trend? I’ve already got my eye on a few more patterns…we’ll see.
