Lately I feel like my life has been a bit of a blur. To be real with you guys, it’s been a bit exhausting between moving, surgery and work. With the return of good health, Scott and I have made it a priority to take time to enjoy the simple things in life and to spend time doing the things we love that are relaxing and nourish our spirits and bodies.

For us, a key way to do this is on our evening walks. We often go 4-5 miles and spend over an hour walking and talking about our days, often stopping on our favorite stone to take time to journal, which is a highlight for both of us. However, with our busy schedules, by the time we are both at home and ready to walk it’s often 6 or 7 pm with no dinner in sight. We are always looking for a great snack to take with us on the trail to help avoid any angry hunger issues, so when I heard about goodnessknows® snack squares I was definitely intrigued and excited to give them a try.

goodnessknows® snack squares are made with real fruit, nuts and chocolate—and they are delicious! They come in three flavors: goodnessknows® Cranberry, Almond, Dark Chocolate, goodnessknows® Apple, Almond & Peanut, Dark Chocolate and goodnessknows® Peach & Cherry, Almond, Dark Chocolate.

If you are wondering where to purchase these tasty snacks, I picked these up at Walmart. If you are looking for them, they are sold individually near the cash register.

After giving them all a try, my favorite flavor has to be the cranberry one. It’s the perfect combo of sweet, tart and crunchy!

What I really appreciate about goodnessknows® is how they come 4 square-shaped bites to a package. Sometimes I only need a single square to get me through and sometimes I go for all four. They are super convenient to share too of course! It truly takes this product from goodness to greatness. 🙂

I’m soaking up every minute of Autumn and our walks while I can. The woods inspire me and bring such a calm to my soul! I really love our journaling breaks as well, but that might be hard to keep up when Daylight Savings hits and it’s so dark out.

What about you guys? What activities do you incorporate that bring extra goodness to your life? I’m looking for suggestions, so I’d love to hear it! 🙂

  1. I will try the fruit and nut bars. It’s almost time for a Walmart run.

Which brings me to one of my nourishing activities. I know it’s because I am housebound for days at a time, but I have embraced people-watching. I used to feel sorry for the (usually) old manor woman, sitting on the bench outside the front restrooms at Walmart, waiting for long periods of time for a spouse to retrieve them. I have joined the ranks. While hubby is getting our shopping list checked off, I have the best seat in the house to watch the show. The drama of a couple arguing over the money spent, the anxiety of watching for the final balance, the relief or regret of running that card through for payment, the pathos of screaming children and sometimes a parent, the humor of how some people or dressed, and the continuing pageant of shoppers choosing a checkout line and going through their paces in the line, then the final release as they leave the store: this is fun and entertainment for me. A super bonus: getting to talk to strangers who are sitting with je. It might be fifty years before this makes sense to your readers, but keep people watching in mind as a nice activity, not rudeness.

  2. Oh I do love cranberry anything! I love that these are found near the register. There are so many times that I am out running errand and I just need a quick pick me up and by the time I get the register I will take whatever is there. Often times my only choice is chips or candy, so I love that these are there!

  3. Oh I’ve not ever tried those, but they would be great for traveling! I’m trying to do more walking and running to keep the weight down and the health level up! Winning one of these prize packs would be awesome for that (I lost my FitBit One somewhere and it’s killing my mojo, LOL!)

  4. I love going on walks with my kids. They take a small pad of paper and draw things they see along the way. I never thought to do the same or write while we are out! Great idea!! (client)
