Let There Be (Pendant!) Light

pendant 8

Morning friends! I’m so super excited to share- we finally got pendant lights installed in our kitchen! YAY.  I know this might not seem like a big deal on the surface, but trust me- after 18 months we are finally moving into the decorating stage of our kitchen remodel! So much more fun then plumbing and installing cabinets in my opinion! We chose these sea foam green pendants from Ikea- I absolutely adore them! Our wonderful friend Coby (who is a ridiculously creative, talented web designer/photographer/artist- check out his work here) came over to hang out one night and graciously decided to help Scott with the installation.  There are few friends in the world that I would literally trust Scott’s life with- when you’re doing electric work someone, you are basically doing that in my mind.  Coby, you made the cut. Congrats! 😛

Since the pendants are actually plug-in lights, they had to cut open the wire and splice it to the electric box in the ceiling, using a conversion kit we picked up from West Elm.  I served as safety inspector/photographer of course! 🙂

After the lights were wired in, the light cover had to be screwed on. This made for a fun situation- Scott held the cover in place, while Coby screwed it in.  Hilarity and jokes ensued.  The guys are now very close. 🙂

I am so thrilled with the results you all…especially when you compare it to the before photo…and the one ugly light that was there before instead of the beautiful pendants/potlights.  Let’s take a look shall we?

Muuuuch better. YAYAYAY….it’s finally all coming together! 🙂

And thank you x 109090 to Coby for his time/help/friendship.  He and his wife are such gems to us. We truly love them!

Have a wonderful day! 🙂
