To appreciate the lovely afters, let’s take a walk back down memory lane at what we started with:

to rephrase what I said it on week one….the SAD BANANA laundry room in all it’s brown and yellow glory! 😀

So much better, right? 🙂 This week I addressed a massive need in our laundry—a drop zone for our stuff. Maybe some of you can relate, but it’s not common for us to have a mad, massive scramble for our keys, bags, shoes, etc. In my free 8 week cleaning e-course, I talk about creating system to set you up for success- well, this is mine. I’m including a full source list at the bottom!

The hooks are from Target- they have several wood rails to choose from and multiple hooks and baskets that you can add onto them. Of course I had to go with the rustic and gold combo to create the perfect landing zone for cardigans, keys, mail and bags. (You can find the rail here, hooks here and baskets here and here).

I also wanted to create a spot to keep our most frequently worn shoes and a spot to place things like library books so I’d remember to grab them on my way out. After two solid weeks of searching, I found these benches on line and two of them fit perfectly in the area I wanted.

I wasn’t super content with the blasé cushions that came on them, so when I had the opportunity to partner with the Leather Hide Store, a family owned, wholesale upholstery leather supplier. I LOVE working with family-owned companies that sell quality items. They have so many gorgeous leathers and finishes, but I had to go with the Montana Buckskin for it’s gorgeous color and finish.

I’ll have a detailed tutorial on how I did the upholstery later, but isn’t it absolutely gorgeous? I wish you all could come through the screen and touch how soft it feels. It’s so amazing…honestly I take a lot longer to put on my shoes now than necessary! 😛

I also added new cabinet pulls- isn’t that blue pretty? It brings out the color in the wallpaper. I also took the opportunity to hang these two vintage washboards that I’ve had for awhile.
