It’s Monday, Let’s Have a Cocktail

Happy Monday friends! Did you all have a great weekend? Mine was so fun- I squeezed in a ton of great stuff- an essential oil party with friends, babysitting, an Anne of Green Gables themed literary luncheon/birthday, a trip to Fort Worth to the comedy club and a his/hers themed shopping afternoon (hers= Tarjay, his= Home Depot) :P.  AND we got a ton of work done on the house AND church. Boom.

Even though I love my job and where I work, it’s still a Monday. It’s always hard to go from doing whatever I want for 12 hours to knowing I need to be in the office for 8 of them. On top of that- yesterday was a lovely 70 degrees and today is 35. Boo! So let’s make a cocktail. This is one of my favorite ones I’ve made to date- I’m a sucker for anything with gin and elderflower. Yum. I don’t think I’m the first one to come up with this combo, but it has a great flavor even though it is s t r o n g. It’s a one and done kinda drink for me. But hey…I’m not judging. 🙂 We call it the gin-elderflower fizz. Maybe not super creative, but that’s what we call it. Or I could be like Anne (of Green Gables) and name it something super fun like “the drink of fizzing and flowers”. Either or!

Gin-Elderflower Fizz
2 parts gin
1 part elderflower
sparkling flavored water- I used San Pellegrino’s Lemon flavored water. (If this is too sweet for you, you can use tonic water).

Place gin and elderflower in a shaker with ice and mix well. Pour into martini glass and top with sparkling water.
Enjoy responsibly. 🙂
