I have to say it—where did October go? It flew by for me in a blur of semi-fall weather, pumpkin spice lattes and cozy cardigans. Ready to take a look back at some of my favorite posts from this October and Octobers past? Here we go! 🙂

But wait! First of all…I have to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweetest and best friend in the world, Scott! 🙂 He’s an introvert so he might not like the shout out on this public space as much as I would have, but I couldn’t help myself! 🙂

This month was a big one for seasonal and Halloween decor, of course! Scott and I crafted like a couple of kids and made not one, but TWO super-spooky Halloween books.

These super creepy diy halloween books are easy and so fun to make!

Those books layered in perfectly with the rest of our Halloween decor, which you can see here. Obviously it was semi-scary with a mysterious vintage twist. 🙂

Also falling under the seasonal umbrella are these gold-leaf pumpkins I created. I am planning on leaving them up through the end of November since they are totally Thanksgiving-worthy. You can never go wrong with gold in my opinion! 🙂

In interior design news, we took things outside! We finally got around to using the very first item I purchased for our house—string lights! They look ethereal and wonderful in our backyard, especially twinkling their reflection from the pool water. Sigh. Is it summer yet? 🙂

I also got to attend an event with Benjamin Moore and learn about their color of the year for 2016, Simply White. You guys know I LOVE my white walls. I promise you they are anything but boring and sterile! If you have been wanting to dip a toe into the white paint trend, this warm white is a good color to start out with.

October 2014:

In October of 2014, I was fed up with my boring computer desktop and decided to look for some cute ways to pretty up my tech. I found a ton of super talented designers giving FREE desktop wallpaper, so I put together this post highlighting 20 of my favorite ones. I still use them today!

I did a lot of thrift shopping that year (I miss it!) and put together some fun tips for how to shop a thrift store. The photos alone are worth taking a look at this fun post!

I also shared my favorite skin care products. A year later I still vouch for every single one of these! 🙂

In October of 2014 I also had some serious vintage camper envy and was dying for a camper of my own to makeover. It hasn’t happened yet but I still love looking through this post filled with amazing photos.

October 2012

There was only one post that month and for good reason, we were living in the middle of an actual, literal construction zone. But, you guys, that post was a good one (and still one of my most popular!) DIY Concrete Countertops.

Now to the giveaway! Have you all heard of Pollo Tropical? It’s a restaurant that’s taken Texas by storm and left me especially smitten for their quick, healthy, delicious tropical-inspired food (guava bbq sauce anyone?). They were kind enough to provide a fun giveaway for you all to help me thank you guys for being such amazing readers! You can check their locations here to see if there is one near you.

The best part is, there isn’t just one winner—there will be three! 🙂 First prize is a Pollo Tropical swag bag which includes a beach towel, t-shirt, sunglasses and, of course, coupons to get some Pollo Tropical! There will also be two runner-up winners, each will get a $25 coupon pack. Entering is easy, just use the rafflecopter below.
