Dating Dallas: The Dallas Arboretum

When we lived in East Dallas there were certain places we’d go to over and over and get really familiar with. One of our favorite places was the Dallas Arboretum. While we no longer live within walking distance to get there, we still love going to the Arboretum and strolling around the beautiful grounds—especially during pumpkin season!

This is my third year going to the annual pumpkin festivities at the Arboretum, and I have to say I think this year’s pumpkin Village was the best I’ve seen since the theme was Texas! Yeehaw! 🙂

Check out this amazing Texas made out of pumpkins! How cool is that?

Are you noticing all the pumpkins? You should because there are 75,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds on the property. Yes, 75,000! Of course this made for a super-cute photo op both for families wanting to get photos of their kids in costumes and for couples trying to get the perfect selfie. Just saying. 🙂

My favorite part of the Arboretum (outside of all the beautiful gardens!) is that you can bring your own food and drinks in to enjoy. So while they have tons of snack options and several restaurants there for purchase, you can also pack your own perfect picnic (including wine!!!) and enjoy it on one of the fields. Did you guys hear me? You can bring wine!!! 🙂

There really is something for everyone here. There are lots of quiet areas to go to where you can do some daydreaming on your own and there are also lots of activities for kids during the day like face painting, games, etc. Scott and I love listening to the live music and people watching. And, you know, having wine. 🙂

If you are local, have you been to the Arobretum? If not, you must—you have until Nov 25th to check it out! It’s seriously pretty. And if you are from out of town, come check it out along with some of my other favorite places I’ve dated in Dallas—find them all here!

  1. Love this post! I’ve been to the pumpkin village 2 years ago and it was a LOT of fun!
I totally agree, the Arboretum is magical!

  2. This looks like my fall dream – so many pumpkins!! I wish I close enough to make a day trip over there, but I’m a few states away. I guess my trip to the pumpkin patch will have to suffice.
