Hi everyone…happy Monday!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend- mine was filled with a birthday party Friday, Saturday and Sunday! So fun to celebrate our friends and family! 🙂 We also took time to unpack and shake the sand out of our suitcases…surprise! We spent the entire last week in Mexico with my family! We had such an incredible time and I can’t WAIT to show you all the photos…I am still sifting through them all. 🙂 This weekend we also were able to swing by one of my favorite thrift stores in Dallas and pick up a table and set of chairs that I had fell in love with and placed on layaway before leaving…and maybe a few other things!
I had been looking for a table for our sunroom for several months. While the easiest DIY tablecloth in the world helped hide some of the ugly…it was still a plastic card table. We also had been looking for some new chairs for our dining room, since we were borrowing Scott’s grandparents’ antique heirloom chairs from my in-laws…and I was super nervous we would break them! So when I saw a set of five AMAZING wood carved chairs with the most perfect blue colored fabric, the table that came with it was just icing on the cake. 😉
So here was our sunroom before…
And here it is with our new set up! Totes adorbs!
Our dining room got the rest of the new chairs and the borrowed chairs were safely delivered to Scott’s family yesterday morning. Phew. 😉 The dining room also got a set of perfect antiqued gold candle holders that happened to be sitting on the table when we went to pick it up- it would’ve been cruel to separate them, really. Especially after they gave them all to us for a killer discount.
How amazing are these chairs?
To anyone wondering…these chairs are NOT velvet. They are maybe a velour but definitely not velvet. In case you all don’t know I have a major, major issue with velvet. I don’t know why- but ever since I can remember the feel of it has made my stomach turn. It really eeks me out big time. I used to meet with a friend for coffee and she’d always pick these two oversized velvet chairs at Starbucks and I would only sit on the edge of the chair and make sure that no part of my actual skin touched it. :O Finally I was brave enough to tell her my issue and she burst out laughing and said “I always just thought you had amazing posture!” 😉 Weird, I know, but true story. We sat in the wooden chairs after that!
We also picked up three new pieces of art- I have the perfect place and idea for these…can’t wait!
The other new addition was from World Market- they are having an awesome sale to clearance out their summer items right now and we got these for about $3 each. These are hand painted and will keep the bugs out of all the food during our fabulous outdoor parties. 😉 In case anyone is interested the 75% off summer sale their included outdoor lighting, lanterns, furniture (it was bare pickings) and some outdoor dining wear.
That’s it for me friends- did anyone get anything fun this weekend? Anyone else on team BAN VELVET FOREVERRRRR?!?!
