New Laundry Room Light – ORC Week 4
I can not believe it’s already week FOUR of the One Room Challenge! That means we are only two weeks away from the big reveal, eek! I was hoping to get a bit more done than we did this week, but we flew out to two different states last week and it threw my game off a bit. I did, however, cross one major project off my list—adding a drool-worthy laundry room light. Check it out!
The laundry room light before was pretty standard for laundry rooms—nothing special, nothing terrifying, just very meh. Our new light has absolutely no meh whatsoever! When I knew I would be doing the ORC, I reached out to my friends at Lamps Plus to see if they would be kind enough to provide me some rock star lighting for my laundry room—thankfully they said yes!
They have a great selection of gorgeous Lamps Plus lighting fixtures, and I kid you not when I tell you I spent H O U R S scrolling through them and trying to narrow down the one to bring home. In the end though, I kept coming back to this Franklin Industrial bronze lighting fixture. I really liked several things about it—it was unique, it gave me the look of something fancy at a flush-mount height, and it was bright. I tried to change a light fixture in a laundry room at our previous house, and picked a one-bulb light and it was really, really dark. So three light bulbs made my heart happy! Isn’t it beautiful? 🙂
A beautiful new light, wallpaper and paint just wouldn’t work with old, yellow electric outlets and switches, so Scott kindly changed these for me too. Such a stud! 🙂 So much better, right?
And in case you are curious, here’s the light when it’s turned on. I love the patterns it makes on the ceiling. It truly adds so much light and style to the room!
